A large police presence was seen traveling Route 60 in Cabell County on Saturday afternoon as law enforcement pursued a woman in a stolen ambulance.
According to a press release from West Virginia State Police, troopers from the Huntington Detachment responded to a theft of a Cabell County EMS ambulance shortly after 1:30 p.m.
According to 911 dispatchers, Cabell County EMS reported an ambulance was stolen out of Huntington around 1:37 p.m.
The ambulance was located on US Route 60 in Huntington, and a brief pursuit ensued, according to WVSP.
The ambulance was stopped at 5720 US RT 60, in Huntington, and Nicole M. Nida, a 42-year-old female from Huntington, was taken into custody without further incident.
WVSP says Nida was charged with Grand Larceny, Fleeing with Reckless Indifference, Obstructing, Suspended/Revoked License, and Reckless Driving. She was arraigned and held at the Western Regional Jail pending bond.
Dispatchers said crews have cleared the scene.
