Charleston Police Department says it has arrested a suspect accused of stealing a Charleston Fire Department SUV, and leading law enforcement officers on a chase.

The SUV was reported stolen from Fire Station 13 on Folly Road around 10 a.m. Sunday morning, according to investigators, and was located a short time later in Goose Creek.

Officers say they tried to pull the SUV over, but the driver refused to stop. A portion of the chase was captured in the video below.

A pursuit began on Goose Creek, went through North Charleston, and ended at King and Mount Pleasant Streets in Charleston. Officers say the vehicle was stopped with “stop sticks,” and the suspect was taken into custody without any further incident.

Goose Creek Police, North Charleston Police, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and Charleston Police Department were all involved in the pursuit.

No injuries were reported, and the SUV suffered only minor damages.

The investigation is ongoing.
