10/9/23 Washington, D.C. – Crews Helping Patient In Back Of Ambulance – Another Person Attempted To Steal The Ambulance – Subdued – Put In Police Custody

A person was arrested late Monday night after allegedly trying to steal a D.C. ambulance while crews were helping a gunshot victim, accord to the D.C. Fire and EMS Department.

Officials said the unidentified person was being treated inside an ambulance at New York Avenue and Florida Avenue Northwest when a gunshot victim approached the unit.

As crews shifted their attention to help said gunshot victim, the person then made the attempt. Crews were able to subdue the person before calling D.C. Police, who put the person in custody.
