One person is in custody after crashing a stolen Las Vegas fire department ambulance Wednesday morning, officials said.
The vehicle was taken from the 400 block of Fremont Street around 6:15 a.m., according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
A spokesperson for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said an ambulance was responding to a medical emergency. While personnel were helping someone, the suspect jumped in and stole the ambulance.
It was later found after getting into a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of Cenntenial Parkway and Pecos Road in North Las Vegas.
Police say only minor injuries have been reported and the suspect was taken into custody.
No other details were provided.
