5/22/24 Washington D.C. – District Of Columbia Ambulance Stolen While On A Medical Call – Under Investigation

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said officers detained someone who is accused of stealing an ambulance in Northwest Wednesday afternoon.

MPD said officers were in the 3800 block of 14th St. NW investigating.

Officials said while crews were transferring a patient to AMR, somebody took the ambulance.

Police recovered the ambulance at Howard University Hospital and then took that person into custody.

No injuries were reported and the ambulance did not appear to have any damages, officials said.
