On Thursday morning, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Golisano’s Children’s Hospital for reports of a stolen ambulance.

Deputies were able to ping the GPS coordinates of the ambulance, where it was located at the RaceTrac off Summerlin.

LCSO located the stolen ambulance and the suspect at the RaceTrac. The suspect, Ariel Marchan-Le Quire, 30, was confronted by deputies, before fleeing the scene in the stolen ambulance.

According to the report, she was driving recklessly, swerving, drifting across lanes and she even almost flipped the ambulance.

After a short pursuit down U.S. Route 41, deputies disengaged as the aviation unit continued to follow Marchan-Le Quire in the stolen ambulance.

The sheriff’s office said she later stopped near the intersection of Island Park Road and US-41 where deputies were able to arrest her.

LCSO said the ambulance was empty, with no patients inside.

Marchan-Le Quire was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash, resisting an officer, fleeing and eluding and theft of emergency equipment.

Marchan-Le Quire has a criminal history that spans across multiple states for charges such as batter, resisting and vehicle theft, according to LCSO.
