Man arrested after stealing ambulance from Vanderbilt

The Ontario City Police Department says 73-year-old Jon Westfall of Ontario, Oregon, stole a Treasure Valley Paramedic Ambulance from the St. Al’s Hospital ambulance bay on Monday afternoon.

Westfall was on the St. Al’s property, and upon leaving, he entered the ambulance and fled the area. Ontario Police Officers responded and attempted to locate the ambulance.

At approximately 3:19 p.m., Ontario Police were told the ambulance was recovered in Owyhee County, Idaho, and Westfall was inside the ambulance. Westfall will be charged with Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and Theft I, both felonies.
