An Atlanta fire truck was stolen Thursday night while crews were on the job, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Police said officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle in the 800 block of Cameron Madison Alexander Boulevard around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Atlanta Fire Rescue workers told responding officers they were putting out a fire when a witness approached them and told them someone had just stolen their battalion truck.
A citywide lookout was placed on the vehicle, which was reportedly found abandoned less than a mile away on the 200 block of Andrew J. Hairston Place. Police said it appears no items were taken from the vehicle.
K-9 units responded and searched the area for a suspect, and officers interviewed witnesses to get a possible description.
So far, no suspect has been found, police said.
