11/5/18 Kerrville, TX – Woman Walks Out Of Peterson Regional Medical Center’s ED And Steals A Kerrville Fire Department EMS Ambulance – Kerrville PD Stopped And Arrested

The Kerrville Police Department has issued a media release regarding an incident involving a stolen ambulance on November 5, 2018. KPD says that a call was received around 4:47 PM stating that a woman by the name of Rae Cobos reportedly walked out of Peterson Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department and proceeded to allegedly steal a Kerrville Fire Department EMS Ambulance.

KPD Officers responded to the call and found the ambulance traveling southbound on Sidney Baker Street.

“The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Kerrville Police Department in pursuing the stolen ambulance. The suspect ended the pursuit by voluntarily stopping at the 4500 block of Highway 16 and she was placed under arrest,” says KPD.

Cobos, an Austin, Texas resident, was charged with Theft of Property >=$150,000<$300,000, which is a Second Degree Felony punishable by up to no more than 20 years or less than two years in prison. Along with this charge, Cobos was also charged with Evading Arrest Detention with Vehicle, a State Jail Felony. This felony is punishable by up to no more than two years or less than 180 days in prison.

Cobos is being held at Kerr County Jail on a $20,000 and a $10,000 Surety Bond.

It was also added that the ambulance did not sustain any damage as a result of the theft.
