11/8/23 Kanawha County, WV – Ambulance Stolen By Woman While Medics Were Inside A Home – Located – Suspect Arrested

A woman was arrested Wednesday after stealing a Kanawha County Ambulance in the Dunbar area, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted just before 6:00 a.m. that the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority (KCEAA) ambulance had been stolen from 1000 Myers Avenue in Dunbar.

Medics returned from responding to an emergency medical call at a home along Myers Avenue to find the ambulance gone.

The ambulance is equipped with GPS capabilities and deputies were quickly able to locate the stolen ambulance in the Sissonville area.

When deputies attempted to stop the ambulance, they say the driver took off and led deputies in a brief pursuit that ended on Ogden Hill Road in Sissonville.

Deputies arrested Amanda Dale Holstein, 34, of Dunbar, for one felony count of grand larceny of an automobile, one felony count of driving under the influence while fleeing, and one felony count of fleeing with reckless indifference.

Holstein was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court where a bond was set for $10,000.00 or 10% cash.

Holstein is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.
