Kansas City, Missouri, Police said after arresting a woman for stealing an ambulance over the weekend, the woman again requested an ambulance.

Police said firefighters from Station 10 in the 1500 block of East Ninth Street reported an ambulance, which had been parked outside of the station, had been stolen on Nov. 28.

All KCFD ambulances are equipped with GPS trackers.

Dispatchers were able to locate the ambulance, which was near I-70 and The Paseo at the time.

Police caught up with the stolen ambulance near 17th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard and attempted to pull the driver over.

The woman eventually stopped near Truman Road and White Avenue, where she was taken into custody without incident.

After her arrest, the 27-year-old woman told police she had injuries to her face from a separate incident, and asked for an ambulance to go to the hospital.

Officers noted the woman was showing signs of narcotic use. A different ambulance was dispatched to the scene to take her to the hospital.

Fire department personnel were able to take the ambulance back for service, and an investigation into the theft is underway.
