5/19/25 Truckee Meadows, NV – Stolen F-150 Marked Fire/Rescue Truck – Nevada State Police Pursuit – Chase Was Called Off For Safety Concerns – Deputies From The Washoe Sheriff’s Found It Abandoned – No Arrest

On the morning of May 19, 2025, an unidentified suspect unlawfully took possession of a Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) vehicle, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. Nevada State Police initiated a pursuit; however, the pursuit was terminated out of concern for public safety.

At approximately 2 p.m., a resident in the Golden Valley area contacted law enforcement to report a suspicious vehicle in their driveway. Deputies from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded and confirmed the vehicle to be the TMFPD truck stolen earlier that day. The vehicle was found abandoned and no individuals were located in the vicinity.

TMFPD was notified and subsequently recovered the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
