Pennsylvania State Police say a 23-year-old man stole an ambulance in Industry Borough and fled from troopers, Wednesday night.

Police identified the suspect as Justin Corrie. Beaver County dispatchers told Action News 4 that paramedics responded to a call on Midland Beaver Road around 7 p.m. While medics were treating Corrie, he allegedly stole their ambulance and drove off toward the parkway.

Troopers said Corrie failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens after they attempted to stop the ambulance. Law enforcement later used intervention tactics to bring the vehicle to a controlled stop on State Route 18 in Center Township.

We’re told by dispatchers that the Corrie was stopped at a nearby GetGo location.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Beaver station, police said.

Corrie is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding and other traffic violations.

State police are investigating the incident.
