A man driving a stolen ambulance led Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers on a pursuit Friday morning from Muskogee to near Broken Arrow.

Troopers told KRMG the Wagoner EMS ambulance was stolen from Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee.

The man driving the ambulance got on the Muskogee Turnpike during the morning rush hour and headed toward Tulsa.

Troopers pursued the ambulance with lights and sirens on, but the driver did not stop.

“Another trooper set up stop sticks.” Lieutenant Jack Choate said. “We flattened three of the tires and brought the vehicle to a safe stop under the Creek Turnpike.”

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Wagoner County Jail around 8 a.m.
